Monday Munchies: Cafe 35

Why Cafe 35, not 36 or 34. I don't know, but I do know the food is tasty! Inside there are 4 themed booths against the walls; a beach theme, outdoor gazebo theme, roman-esque theme, and a patio theme, and about 6 small tables in the middle. We sat in the booth in the first picture, the cute little gazebo-like one with a "view" it was so cute.

The young lady who took care of us looks like she pretty much ran the whole shop and you could watch her make everything by hand. I ordered the Salep, a hot milk drink topped with cinnamon and made with wild orchid powder. Wow, it was rich, had an interesting thickness to it, the cinnamon stood out with just a hint of that floral aspect shining through. I want to drink this thing every morning! yum! For breakfast, my friend Lindsey and I decided to split a Turkish bagel and a breakfast platter. The platter consisted of hard boiled eggs, jelly, honey and yogurt, seasoned cucumbers, seasoned tomatoes, olives, bread and tea. It was all fresh and tasty and made for a healthy start to the day. The bagel was soft, twisted so it pulled apart, and covered in sesame seeds. It was delicious with the jelly and with the honey spread as well.

Another offering on the menu were belgium waffles served like a normal waffle, or with all of the toppings folded inside like a taco! It looked so good, I almost ordered one...guess I'll just have to go back and visit again! They also had what I assume to be traditional Turkish dishes like Sucuklu Yumurta (scrambled eggs with garlic sausage), Sahanda Yumurta (eggs on the pan with cheese), fruit plate, and turkish bagel plates or as a sandwich. I also want to come back for lunch because those offerings look good too!!
