Monday Munchies: Paccari Experience House

Paccari, if you've read my favorite souvenirs entry you'll know that Paccari makes some absolutely DELICIOUS chocolate that I love. But, on one of my tours, the guide recommended that I try their restaurant while I was in Quito, so I decided I had better do it. Holy absolutely best decision I have ever made! It was also suggested that I get the avocado toast, and being an avocado toast enjoyer, I definitely got it.

I'm sorry, not sorry for my language here, but LOOK at this fuuucking spread. This looks EXACTLY like the picture in the menu. I got the breakfast toast which came with two toasts; you could do both as the hummus and avocado, both the nutella-esque chocolate spread with freash strawberries and blueberries on top, or you could do one of each. Clearly I'm greedy so I wanted to try both. Those flowers on there? Edible. The little remnants in the long bowl at the top where like a cocoa pebbles cereal type little munchie snack that was just brought to the table upon arrival. They were just okay, but was nice to have something to snack on. The coffee was a mochaccino and then just some scrambled eggs on the side. A funny side note, many places looked at me and just straight asked me if I'd like my eggs scrambled instead of "how would you like your eggs?" This is a stereotype I'll take because its the only way I like eggs and it made it so easy to order! Though I did have to learn the word for those who thought I was a little more sophisticated than I am!

This meal was just so refreshing and absolutely delicious that my mouth AND eyes watered upon pulling up this image. I really wanted to be back on the cute little patio eating this meal. The location is a little strange since it's located in an information center type thing and looks like just a store from the outside, and honestly on the inside as well. You walk in to a bunch of their chocolate bars on display, I think they had ALL of their flavors here, and there were a lot of them, along with some other products for sale. The lady at the front brought me around the corner, and lo and behold there were a few tables and one of the waitress kept going up (or down maybe, I can't recall) a staircase so their must have also been more seating elsewhere.

Everyone here was kind and friendly and I enjoyed the time that I spent here. If you'll be in Quito and want to add this to our itinerary, I highly recommend it! You can find them here:
