Small Business Saturday: Black Button Distilling

I'd like to take a break from all the Iceland posts to shine the spotlight on a local business here in Rochester that has completely turned around their operations to produce something for the good of the community during this unprecedented time in our lives. I know there are so many companies out there who are doing their part in their communities and I can't possibly name them all, even just being open is such a help to so many. But I do want to thank any and everyone who is giving back to their communities and their neighbors in need, whether you're a business, an individual, or a family. You all are making the world a little bit of a better place during a time when so many things are uncertain, its nice to know that we have each others' backs. As of March 19th 2020 Black Button Distilling halted production of their delicious spirits, turning instead to making and distributing a different kind of alcohol- hand sanitizer.

The company, normally known for its whiskeys, gins, vodkas, moonshines and liqueurs, learned new guidelines, made changes to their machines, and re-trained their employees for their new line of alcohol products. Black Button Distilling was up and running with these new changes in only 48 hours, providing much needed resources to hospitals and at-risk communities at a time when quantities of hand sanitizer are limited. In a press conference Black Button stated that if they can increase their production then they urge senior citizen centers, fire stations, day cares, and other places in need to contact them at cheers@blackbuttondistilling.com to find out more. Don't need sanitizer yourself but would like to donate to help those who do? Visit Black Button's Go Fund Me page to do just that!

Need a little liquid encouragement to get you through this seemingly endless quarantine? Black Button still has your back. Order any of their products online here and either pick them up between 12pm-5pm or, if your order is over $50, you can have it delivered right to your door! with 9 different whiskeys, 5 types of gins (both classic and flavored), a coffee liqueur, a bourbon cream that sounds like it would be beautiful in a cup of coffee, 2 kinds of moonshine, and 3 vodka options...you really can't go wrong. So go online or give them a call (585-730-4512) and make your quarantine suck a little less, while supporting a great business!
