Small Business Saturday: Polished Salon in Spa

Located in the Country Village Plaza in Rochester, NY(1100 Long pond rd. suite 1110B to be exact) is Polished salon. The spa is located in a different building close by in the same plaza, as I discovered when I accidentally went there instead of the salon! Whoops. Both places offer a ton of different services, from botox to massages, microblading to micro-needling (gets rid of acne scars, who knew), laser treatments to nail services and haircuts to bridal spa services. But we're here today to talk specifically about the salon, since that is the only service I've personally used so far.

At the salon the offer your typical salon options- hair cut/style, blowouts, manicures, pedicures, and waxing. But they also offer tanning, which I didn't know until I was browsing their website more in-depth today! I think that's pretty unique for a salon to offer, at least where I'm used to going you don't see that available. The inside of Polished Salon is pretty, the chairs/couch to wait on is comfortable and plush, and everyone I've ever had any interaction with has just been lovely. So kind, professional, and if they can't help you they will find someone who can. When I first moved back to Rochester, I needed to find a stylist who had the same vibe as the last two stylists I went to in Virginia (the first one moved out of state and I had to find another one. It is VERY hard for me to find a stylist I love, but I managed it) and especially one who wasn't afraid of short, funky hairstyles! This is more difficult to find than you'd think. So many times on my search in Virginia I found stylists that were too timid with my hair and ended up not giving me what I wanted because they weren't confident enough to go shorter. And then there's Roxanne.

Amazing and wonderful Roxanne Liberti. She's feisty and fun, but also professional, knowledgeable and knows how to shape my hair into a goddamned masterpiece. Holy moley. Roaxanne is an expert at her craft and you can tell she has a passion for what she does. Knowing how to cut short hair on a lady, while still making it look feminine is some kind of an art form I swear, because it can definitely go very wrong! She spends so much time getting my hair to lay this way or that, texturing where it needs it, and to make sure everything looks nice from every angle. I'm beyond glad that I found her, and on my first try too, she is just an absolute dream! Judging from the way this company operates, I can imagine that they only hire top quality professionals to work within their walls, so you would be in good hands with any other stylist as well. Also mention if you're looking for something in particular, and they can guide you to the right stylist, its what I did for my hair. I let them know that I needed someone who was well-versed in the stylings of short hair on women.

Check out their Facebook page and Instagram, both with the username @polishedroc or @Polished_salon_ if you're using Twitter. Or give them a call at 585-227-8619. You can also follow Roxanne on Instagram if you'd like to check out more of her work @beautifulhairbyroxanne

Some before and after pics to show you her work! Color was provided by my sister, we're only looking at the cuts here. First two are from when I first moved back and last two are from my most recent cut a week or so ago.
