I know, I know, its crazy to think about going anywhere right now. But sometimes, I need to daydream about the places I could go when the Corona Virus has gone away. And the best way to do that is through Scott's Cheap Flights!
I have a love/hate relationship with this service, though it's mostly love, but I get SO many deals that I wish I could afford to take all of them. But I have scored some sweet deals and seen some sweet deals that I missed out on. For example, there was a flight to Australia for $245 or something like that. It was a mistake fare that the airline put up (was probably meant to be $2,450 if I had to guess) and the deal only lasted about an hour before they realized and fixed it. Sadly, I was working and didn't get the email until my shift was over. HUGE bummer.
By now you're probably wondering, okay, sounds great...but exactly how does it work and how much do I have to pay for this amazing service! Don't worry, I got you. The service itself is free for a basic membership where you receive basic deals for the airports that you select (I chose the 2 airports near me, Buffalo and Rochester, as well as JFK and LGA because they're easy to get to on a bus for $1-10), check out the flight details, and if you like it then click the direct link to where you can set dates and purchase tickets. I don't know exactly how they determine what a basic deal and a premium deal is, but at $49 a year, I happily paid to get the premiums deals. With premium you still set the airports you'd like to receive notifications from, but the deals I get in my e-mail are massive. I just booked a flight 2 months ago to Guatemala in November for $150, more than half off! They've also had great deals for local flights and up to Vancouver and other parts of Canada lately, mostly I think because of COVID-19. With premium I also get alerts about those mistake fares, like the Australia flights I mentioned above, but so far I haven't been able to catch them. One day! Oh, and also deals for peak season and holiday flights are sent to me, which aren't included in the free membership.
I used this service when I went to Iceland and scored a round trip for $250 or something similar and they keep sending me notifications about flights to Tokyo for under $500 which I've had to will myself not to purchase. Though if it pops up again, I can't guarantee my self-restraint. Scott's Cheap Flights only offers deals through top-rated airlines and also have a whole section of guides, tips, and tricks for traveling and spotting good deals.
If you feel like checking them out, and you definitely should, go ahead and visit the website here. I am in no way affiliated with Scott's Cheap Flights, so I do not get paid when you click, I just really like their service and think it's an awesome way to score some good deals on flights and wanted to share my knowledge with you!
