Tuesday Traveler- Wanderful

Updated: Sep 4, 2023

Hello, hello everybody we're happy you're here :) Today I want to talk about an awesome group of ladies that I recently found out about! Its an online community of women all over the world called Wanderful. Right now it's more important than ever to have a group of like-minded people to connect and chat with, since in-person gatherings are only slowly coming back. I've been able to chat with people all around the US and the world, promote this project, and meet other creators and travel lovers. But these aren't the only benefits of being a Wanderful member!

They host all sorts of events, the most exciting one being Wanderfest in March 2022!! I'll be traveling myself, and sadly won't be able to make it, but it sounds hecking awesome. It's basically

a celebration of women and traveling combined- which is right up our alley and probably many of our readers' alley. They'll have a woman-owned marketplace of shops (which you can purchase a tent or table if you're a creator yourself), performances by up-and-coming women musical artists and talent, mingle with like-minded ladies and maybe meet your new best friend or travel partner, and participate in the Wander Women parade down the French Quarter! No festival of this kind would be complete without some influential women speakers, knowledgeable in the travel field. You'll hear from women like Patricia Schultz (Author of #1 NYTimes bestseller 1,000 Places to See Before You Die), Oneika Raymond (Journalist, media personality, & Travel Channel host), Crystal Wahpepah (Indigenous chef & owner of Wahpepah’s Kitchen), among others. The whole thing takes place outdoors in NOLA. If interested (who wouldn't be), you can get your General Admission or VIP tickets here.

Another benefit is the group conversations they have, the meetings, and the events- both in person and virtual. For example they are doing an Antarctic trip next year, and while I joined Wanderful after the sign up date for that trip, I am looking forward to any others they have in the future. You know I LOVE Iceland, and if you don't then where have you been?! Well, on May 6th they're offering a VIRTUAL trip to Iceland that is free for all Wanderful members. I've been wanting to visit Iceland in the spring time just to see the stark contrast between the snowcapped, frozen Iceland I visited, and the flourishing, lush Iceland that comes alive at this time of year. I'm also hoping they'll swing by the Reykjanes peninsula so we can get a glimpse of the erupting volcano! I don't know why I'm obsessed with volcanoes, but I just think they're magnificent.

I've also received notifications about the workshops they do, like "Travel Blogging Beginner Bootcamp." Yesterday I attended a Mindfulness Masterclass, which was peaceful, informative, and I enjoyed it quite a bit. Also yesterday I signed up for an event called "Return to Travel" out on in partnership with AAA, and with guest Samantha Brown! The ticket I picked was free and includes access to all of AAA's other virtual events this year. I'm still rather new to the platform, so I'm excited to see what else they have to offer and what future events I can attend!

If this sounds like a community you'd also like to be part of, you can sign up here and get your tickets to Wanderfest here. If you are a Wanderful member, they are still offering the early bird discount of 20% off any Wanderfest admission ticket- you should receive the discount code in an email or in the notification about the event if I remember correctly.

**full disclosure, these are affiliate links and I do receive a commission if you sign up using any of the links here. But, I really am a member and really do love the services, otherwise I would not be recommending them :) **
